Dr Pillai (Baba) Teaches About HAYA GREEVA – A New Archetype for Divine Intelligence & Siddhi Powers

January 23, 2011

Dr Pillai (Baba) Lecturing About Haya Greeva at Vadiraja's Temple (Dec 2010)

Namaste everyone,

During Dr Pillai (Baba)’s recent New Year’s Day Seminar (2011) in New York, Dr Pillai (Baba) introduced a powerful archetype for 2011 called Haya Greeva (also spelt as Hayagriva).

Haya Greeva is a divine being who gives divine intelligence and wisdom. He also can bestow siddhi (supernatural) powers on you when you recite his mantra with sincerity. Those present at Dr Pillai (Baba)’s New Year’s Day seminar and on the live webcast were blessed to receive initiation into Haya Greeva’s mantra.

Haya Greeva has lived since time immemorial and in other ancient civilisations, he has been known by different names. For example, in Ancient Egypt he was known as Thoth / Djehuti (which I had shared in my most recent post).

A few weeks prior in December 2010, Dr Pillai (Baba) visited Sri Vadiraja’s Temple & Samadhi  Shrine in Sirsi, Karnataka (India). Vadiraja (1480 AD to 1600 AD) was a famous saint in India who lived for 120 years.

According to Baba, Vadiraja had mastered the full range of 64 siddhi powers. As such, Vadiraja was renowned for performing many miraculous feats. Vadiraja had been able to acquire such siddhis by obtaining the blessings of Haya Greeva and another divine being called Bhoota Raja.

When he reached 120 years of age, Vadiraja chose not to die but entered into maha samadhi (a state of deathless trance) and is entombed at the temple we visited. Vadiraja is said to be still in meditation in his samadhi tomb.

The general public is not allowed to enter into the main room housing Vadiraja’s  samadhi tomb – only the head priest enters the room to perform pooja (ritual offerings)  each day – but the public can look from outside into the main room through two small grilled windows. When Dr Pillai (Baba) visited Vadiraja’s samadhi tomb, Baba said He could feel Vadiraja’s power still emanating from his samadhi shrine!

You can get darshan of Vadiraja’s samadhi tomb here. This video clip of Vadiraja’s samadhi shrine was filmed secretly when the priests weren’t looking!

(Note: Vadiraja’s samadhi tomb is the entire structure in black and covered in saffron (orange) cloth which you can see through the grilles)

After visiting Vadiraja’s samadhi shrine, Baba stopped by a mural in the temple and gave us a short teaching on Haya Greeva:

As Dr Pillai (Baba) had mentioned, Vadiraja also had the blessings of Bhoota Raja, another powerful divine being. Bhoota Raja is known by several names including Karuppusamy, one of the new archetypes Baba has introduced for 2011.

We visited Vadiraja’s temple during the previous night and were lucky to catch the start of the nightly pooja ceremony to Bhoota Raja.

In the video below, Bhoota Raja is being symbolically represented and the priests offer flowers, rice and show the aarti (flame) to invoke Bhoota Raja’s blessings.

Look out for Baba’s teaching on Karuppusamy and the mantra Baba has given to invoke Karuppusamy’s blessings coming very soon.
