What Can An Initiation by an Enlightened Master Do For You?

Namaste everyone,

On the eve of Dr Pillai (Babaji)’s Guru Purnima 2-day exclusive  seminar in Singapore, during which for the 1st time in 10 years Babaji will give each attendee a personal shaktipat initiation, I would like to share with you profound writings which attempt to put into words the indescribable i.e. the glory of an initiation from enlightened master and how the destiny of the spiritual aspirant can be transformed.

In Light On The Path (1972), Swami Muktananda beautifully writes at page 13:

In every human being there dwells a divine energy, the kundalini shakti. This energy has two aspects: one manifests samsara, the ephemeral worldly existence; the other leads to the highest Truth. When the Guru transmits his soul power to a disciple, the latter aspect of the Kundalini Shakti is automatically activated in the disciple and set into operation. This is known as shaktipat diksha or gurukripa.

… 

For countless ages, shaktipat has been used as a secret means of initiation by the great sages. [The Guru’s transmission of his] own glory and luster of divine enlightenment into the disciple and give him an instantaneous, direct experience of [God] is the secret meaning of shaktipat…

At page 18, Swami Muktananda describes what happens once a disciple receives shaktipat from a Guru:

A spiritual aspirant blessed by the Guru’s grace becomes filled with joy upon recognising this active world as nothing but the projection of the divine, cosmic Kundalini. If he follows the right path, such an aispirant can lead a normal wordly life; it is not necessary for him to leave his household. Through visions, his awakened Kundalini always protects him. She fulfills all his wishes and aspirations. Nothing remains to be obtained by him in whose heart this Shakti enters. 

In The Guru’s Sandals: Threshold of the Formless (1997) at page 16, Swami Kripanananda gives us an understanding of what is Shakti:

Inside us, this great Shakti is the energy that makes our heart beat, our lips move and our minds think. She is the force that enables us to perform all our activities. And yet, She also has another aspect that is secret and dormant. In this form, She lies quiescent in the center of the body, at the base of the spinal column. In the human body, Shakti is known as Kundalini, “the coiled one” because She lies coiled liked a sleeping serpent. It is the work of this hidden aspect of Shakti to carry out our spiritual evolution and bring us to the state of enlightenment.

When [your] Kundalini Shakti is awakened [through a shaktipat initiation], She begins to dissolve our limitations brings meaning to life. She reveals the realms that exist within us, waiting to be discovered and we come to understand our true greatness. She is the force that kindles spiritual understanding, the perfect energy of grace and brings us to liberation.
