A Story from Dr Pillai (Babaji’s) childhood

March 4, 2012

Namaste everyone,

Paramahamsa Yogananda, in his beloved “Autobiography of a Yogi” (1946), describes growing up in magical old India and encountering yogi masters with supernormal (siddhi) powers who could perform amazingly impossible  feats such as teleportation, telepathy and manifestation, including Maha Avatar Babaji who manifested a palace made out of solid gold.

Last week, during His Introductory Light Body Seminar, Dr Pillai (Babaji) treated us to a delightful anecdote from His childhood growing up as a boy on the island of Rameshwaram.

In this story, Babaji describes his boyhood encounter with yogi masters who could suspend their breathing for hours while being buried under sand.

Incidentally, if you would like to read Yogananda’s “Autobiography of a Yogi”, I’ve included a link to the free online version of this most divine work. Just click on the picture of Yogananda above.

With love,

Vijay
