“You Have The Power To Make A Difference”: Ambassador of HoPE David’s Wonderful Testimony

Sometimes, a photo taken during our Ambassadors of HoPE Trip can speak volumes of the special bond that forms between our Ambassadors and the HoPE children they meet for the first time.

After our trip, I was looking through the photos we had taken and I came across a touching photo which captured a very special moment between first time Ambassador David and a little HoPE Center child.

I asked David if he could say a few words about this tender moment, which he graciously did (below).

Having studied with Dr Pillai since 2000 and having been on numerous trips, I can honestly say my trip to visit the Hope kids was the most magical and fun of any trip I have ever been on.

When you arrive at any centre, the kids have obviously been told to be on their best behaviour and act in a dignified and polite manner. It takes a while to warm them up, but after we got them to play a game or dance about they soon realised they could let go of their inhibitions and we had them laughing, joking and having fun

Consider the picture of the little girl looking at me. When we first met her I doubt anyone would have thought she would even be able to smile. It took the group less than half an hour to change a serious, frowning girl into a bundle of joy and laughter.

Dr Pillai talks about making a difference and seeing miracles. If you go to one on these centres you will see just that happen. If nothing else, please find it in your heart to support the Hope programs. These children were living in homes and had family situations that are just incredulous and by donating just a few dollars it will make the world of difference to them. They will know someone cares about them, that they are special and that you have given them an extraordinary future.
